I wanted to take a look at the new JSDT, so I checked out the WTP-Page. It tells me on the download page I could load the new 3.2 packages from http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/helios/

Buuuut... that repository shows up empty in my freshly installed Eclipse J2EE Helios W32.

Bummer. And the Downloads found at http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R3.2.0/ R-3.2.0-20100615235519/ are quite confusing to be honest. All 3- or 4-letter acronyms, none of them WTP or JSDT. So as someone new to this particular tool, I have no idea which one I need.

Oh yeah, and on the JSDT-page, all the links like FAQ, Articles, Getting Started and the lot (except Wiki) are dead. You know, all the links that should be helping noobs like me to easily start using the product.

So. Maybe the whole Toolset is super-extra-nifty. But with a webpage that useless, many users will never find out. And I assume the people who developed WANT as many people as possible to use this, or not?

/END rant

To make it short, I would appreciate it if somebody could tell me how to install the new 3.2 JSDT into my eclipse.

Thanks
Fabian

As you already have the Helios Java EE package installed, you already
have JSDT in there--it's been providing WTP's JavaScript support since
Ganymede. Which JSDT web page were you at with these broken links?

Awww really? thats it? I have to say its kinda disappointing... it doesn't even support basic things like ctrl-click on a function/var to jump to the declaration.

The page I was on was http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsdt/

The Quicklinks (down&left) are the ones that I meant.

I would like to start with JSDT, but as Fabian mentioned (last month) the FAQ, Getting Started, Articles, ... on http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsdt/ bring "404 File Not Found".

Please, can anybody fix the links?

Even old documentation is better then no documentation.

And are there any examples or tutorials for JSDT?

Anything would be of great help.

Thanks in advance,

Igor
