Hi all,

I've given a task to create a plugin which is similar to Mylyn updater but it should only have "Check for update" menu item with the url defined. So, if this plugin is added to a rcp application, in the help menu it should add "Check for update" menu item and when click on that, it should go to the defined site (url hardcoded) and display the list of addons available in the same way how Mylyn discovery updater does.

I understand that i can build this plugin from the code of Mylyn discovery Updater, but not getting the right idea on how to do this. I would really appreciate if anyone can give me some ideas on how to proceed with this work. Looking for your brilliant ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Prasath.

I would recommend looking at P2 examples on how to add update and extension
install to RCP applications:

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox/p2/Discovery
