Hello,
I'm not sure this is the right group for my question - if not, please point
me at the right one.
I use eclipse, both 3.5 Galileo, and 3.6 Helios.
I need to develop some applications using flash builder (AKA Flex). I read
that there's a plugin for eclipse that integrates the flash builder with
eclipse.
Does anyone use this, and can tell me whether this plugin works with Helios?
Thanks,
Zohar.

I kind of doubt that this is the right place to look, but I'll answer anyway.

If you are a student or an out-of-work developer, Adobe will give you their
Flash Builder for free. There is no real alternative to Adobe's tools. It is
possible to get the Eclipse XML editor to recognize the Flash format, though,
and it is pretty easy to create an ANT script that will compile your flash for
you by using the free flash SDK.

I'm thinking of writing a few blog entries about it. You can watch for them here:

Flash Builder comes as a stand-alone product or as an eclipse plug-in - for eclipse 3.4 or 3.5

Wow, do you just make this crap up as you go along? Don't answer questions if you don't know what you're talking about.

A.) Adobe will definitely NOT give you Flash Builder for free.
B.) There are literally dozens of alternatives to pretty much everything Adobe offers.
C.) "compile your flash for you by using the free flash SDK"??? It sounds like you've never even USED Flash Builder.

People like you absolutely disgust me. I see this same scenario over and over and over, someone asks a legitimate question and some jerk off who likes the sound of his own voice or is trying to promote some crappy blog or something just pulls an answer out of his ass and posts it as if it were the unequivocal truth.

The lesson here is never believe someone who says something can't be done, it's most likely because they just don't know how to do it.

Check this out if you want an almost identical free version of Flash Builder that runs under Eclipse in Linux: code.google.com/p/fb4linux/wiki/HowToInstall
