I believe that the proposed changes have been accepted and implemented
in the latest versions of EMF Compare but there hasn't been any activity
on our side on updating the ECL integration accordingly. Could you
please file an enhancement request for this? If you'd also like to have
a go at it, I'd be more than happy to help!

EMF Compare is highly modular and allows developers to implement their
own matching and differencing engines. Therefore to integrate EMF
Compare and ECL, we implemented a new matching engine that delegates to
ECL. Does this answer your question?
