That was possibly missed when the connector was ported. Please report a bug
and include steps to reproduce:

This is the bug report:

243628: [web connector] Basic authentication doesn't work, credentials
header not sent

The problem should be fixed in the latest weekly release:

That was possibly missed when the connector was ported. Please report a bug
and include steps to reproduce:
