Hi,

I am using the datatools project to connect to an Oracle database by I am
having some usability issues.

By default code-completion in the SQL Editor/Scrapbook only shows you
options from tables in the schema which corresponds to the username used
to login. In my case most of the tables I work with are in another schema
which I have access to, so I would like to tell the editor to use a
specific schema is the default...is there a way to do this? If not is
there a bug for this (I couldn't find one).

It seems like the SQL Query Builder respects the Schema Filter preferences
when showing the list of available tables to choose from and it even has a
preference omitting the default schema name and specifying what that
default should be. Shouldn't both tools be using the same option?

If anybody else is having trouble using Oracle w/ datatools, I would
suggest taking a look at the jOra plugin
( http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/Web_Links-index-req-view link-cid-1146.html)
It is has more features and is easier to use.

It doesn't seem to support specifying a default schema, but it has support
for code completion on public synonyms (which datatools doesn't) which is
even better in my case because the synonyms we use are shorter and well
documented.

Hey Marc...

Have you entered any enhancement requests or bugzilla entries for the items
that aren't working for you?
