On the download page, the repository mentionned :

<repositories>
<repository>
<id>jgit-repository</id>
<url>http://download.eclipse.org/jgit/maven</url>
</repository>
</repositories>

seems to be unavailable. I have found a mirror at : http://ftp.kaist.ac.kr/eclipse/egit/maven/ but I prefer to reference the central one. Is it a configuration mistake in my side, or is the maven repository really down ?
