Allocation Details for String [message #533793]

In Obect Allocation in Memory Statistics tab I am able to view String if I set it not to exclude it from filters. But, on double clicking the same I am not able to view the Allocation Details of String even though it shows some live instances of Strings. Whereas for other object similar details can be seen.

How can we see Allocation Details for String containing package name, etc?

Hi NRN, I was able to profile a simple class containing a String and view the allocation site, using 4.7.0. Could you provide more details on your environment?

Hi

I am using TPTP-4.6.2 as this is the latest release I am able to find in downlaods on eclipse website. And I am using JDK1.6 to run the tool.

Hi NRN,
Can you try with 4.7.0 (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/?ver=4.7.0) and see if you are still able to reproduce? If so, please open a bug and provide a sample case to reproduce the problem, and we will investigate. Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for reply. With 4.7 I am able to view the require details. But, now live String instances are shown as 22 and if we see details then details can be seen only for 11 instances.

Can you let me know why there is a difference?
