Hi~~~

My clients told me that when using the Upload widget by selecting a file and clicking the "Upload" button, sometimes the RAP application UI will be directed to a page saying "Could not evaluate javascript response: Access Denied" immediately.

It is said that we can easily reproduce this problem by enable the code:uploadWidget.setData(WidgetUtil.CUSTOM_WIDGET_ID, "XXX"); but actually I just can't reproduce it no matter turning the code on on or off~~~

I googled this issue and most articles tell me that this kinda problem is mainly caused by crossing domain fied accessing. But It's really confusing cos I just can't see any probability that this kind of code would be there existing in the RAP framework.

So I wonder whether or not you have ever met this kinda error before? How can we solve or work arround it?

Thanks and Best Regards!

Tingel Christian

PS: This is what the error page says:

Could not evaluate javascript response:

Access Denied

org.eclipse.swt.EventUtil.suspendEventHandling();var req = org.eclipse.swt.Request.getInstance();req.setRequestCounter( "37");var wm = org.eclipse.swt.Widget....BlahBlahBlah~~~

We are using RAP 1.2.0, this problem mostly occurs in IE6.

Thanks again~~~

Hi,

I don't have a IE6 running so I cannot try to reproduce this. Maybe you
can try to find out which JS call causes this problem by enabling the
debug mode and logging output.
VM-Params:
-Dorg.eclipse.rwt.clientLibraryVariant=DEBUG
-Dorg.eclipse.rwt.clientLogLevel=ALL

Regards,
Stefan.

Hi Christian,

if you can come up with a snippet that reproduces the problem, please
file a bug. But, needless to say, without being able to reproduce, we
can't do anything.

Maybe the problem is related to your customers environment? For example,
is there a proxy? If IE-only, can you reproduce it with the same
Windows/Service Pack/IE version? ...

Regards, Ralf

Thanks an awful lot, Stefan and Ralf.

Yes, I can totally understand that it's impossible for you to tell how this problem happens without any snippets. I just meant to see if you had met this or this kind of problem before and if you have any suggestion on how to track this kinda problem

Thanks a lot for your suggestions and I will tell them to follow your directions and collect the information required, I will update this thread as soon as I get their feedback~~~

Thank you very much! Really appreciate that!

Best Regards!

Hi, Stefan and Ralf:

Hi Christian,

it seems that the function _performUpload in Upload.js can lead to a
TypeError with "Access Denied" message. I'd suggest to open a bug with
this trace and include information on know how to reproduce it.

Regards, Ralf

Thanks Ralf~

Very sadly, I have tried to find the way follow which we can reproduce this problem for a whole night, but I can not even get close to it.

I really made the problem reproduced tonight, but it came so ocassionally that I could hardly catch it...

It seems that the frequency raises when there are 2 sessions accessing 2 different servers both of which provide file upload service with the Upload widget.

Would this be helpful if I file a bug using the above information plus the traces?

Thanks a lot and Best Regards!
