Hi team,

I'm struggling with JBoss to start it up. So I thought better to get Geronimo (with which I had a nice experience before)... But since Geronimo adapter are not pre-set in Preference->Server->RuntimeEnvironment, then I tried "...add->Download Additional server adpaters" but to my surprise after either attempting to connect or browsing pre-set sites the view is shown empty???

i.e."Preference->Server->RuntimeEnvironment->add->Download Additional server adpaters" ... is empty.

I just want to know if it is in fact that no new server adapters are available therefore, Helios is being consequent or, if adapters are indeed available but Helios fails to show them. Or maybe I need to provide Helios with some additional configuration.

Many thanks for your help,

Jorge

I just tried it with my WTP 3.2M7 and I see a number of server adapters
listed, including Geronimo. One thing I've found is that if you are
going through a proxy server, the default Eclipse proxy settings on the
Window -> Preferences -> General -> Network Connections page (i.e.
Active Provider = "Native") may work for some things, but doesn't work
for me when downloading server adapters. I have to change the setting
to "Manual" and specify appropriate values before I see the server adapters.

That said, there are some differences in WTP 3.2 from WTP 3.1 which may
require a new version for WTP 3.2 to work in all use cases. Thus, I'm
not sure current Geronimo server adapters will work properly.

What problem are you having with the JBoss server adapter (I'm assuming
this is the one built into WTP 3.2)? It appears to start and stop fine
for me.

Cheers,
Larry

Hi Larry,

Many thanks for your answer.

I tried your suggestion, trying to install WTP 3.2M7 but it was unsuccessful. I guess because I had already installed Helios EE package, so I upgrade Helios to M7 (up to that point I had M6) and it works!!! therefore now I'm able to switch to Geronimo...

However I'm still interested to get to the root of the problem regarding JBoss...

The problem I have is at start up process. It looks that Jboss hang on at line:
INFO [ServerImpl] JBoss (Microcontainer) [5.0.1.GA (build: SVNTag=JBoss_5_0_1_GA date=200902232048)] Started in 42s:954ms (on the server.log file)

Then few seconds later I've got the following message from Eclipse:
Server JBoss v5.0 at localhost was unable to start within 50 seconds. If the server requires more time, try increasing the timeout in the server editor.

Here is the link to the thread I opened in JBoss community. there you can see also the log files.http://community.jboss.org/thread/151607

Many thanks for your help,

Jorge
