Hello.

I am the GSoC mentor of the Clone Digger project, the tool for finding
duplicate code in programs on the abstract syntax tree
level(http://clonedigger.sourceforge.net).

There is one student willing to develop the Eclipse plug-in during Google
Summer of Code.

The key point is that it is easy to add the support of new languages to
this tool, I plan to add Java, C, PHP, etc.. Thus, it's better to take
this proposal out of the PSF umbrella, because it is not fully
Python-specific.

Whom should I consult about hosting this project under the Eclipse
Foundation umbrella? There were several good reviews from the Python
programmers, I think that a lot of Java programmers, C programmers, PHP
programmers will be grateful for developing this plug-in.

The student is really talented, and she has some experience in developing
Eclipse plugins.

Unfortunately, Google's submission deadline has passed. Unless the
student has already submitted their proposal, they're out of luck for
this term.

If my assumption that they care about getting paid by Google to do the
work is invalid, we may be able to find a mentor who can work with the
student outside of the GSoC programme.
