Hello,

We are facing a strange problem with Eclipse 3.5 on linux (RHE 4 KDE). The Browse button to open the native dialog to select files is too slow to invoke.

Any clues what might be the reason?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Mohamed.

Mohamed,

Do other applications on the system have this problem too. Perhaps the
file system has mounted some very slow or unresponsive file systems?

Thanks a lot for the pointer, it seems slightly slower than other applications (OO Writer for example) especially for the first time opening any Open dialog, but as you mentioned the slowdown seems like a user environment problem than an eclipse problem.

Trying it with different users some with plain environment things seem much faster. Though it is still a bit slower first time.

Thanks a lot for the quick help.

Best Regards,
Mohamed.
