I am able to setup and communicate via eclipse with another developer in the building. However when we share and editor session they can only see my changes, I cannot see there changes. If we use the ECF server we can see both changes.

I was hoping to take advantage of the open fire server the company has setup and not have to have the ECF server as well.

We are using openfire 3.6.4 with eclipse 3.5.2 and ECF 3.0.1.v20090916-2238 downloaded via the Collaboration->Eclipse Communication Framework SDK update site.

Any suggestions on why the first party cannot see the other persons edits

We just downloaded and installed the latest ECF SDK from the ECF site and it still does not work. The second party can see my edits but I cannot see there's when using XMPPS.

found an old post that I submitted over a year ago, in order for this to work with openfire you have to use machinename.domainname for the openfire server durring setup. Finally, if you want to use chat rooms in eclipse you cannot use a password. If you do then you will get an exception and it won't connect.

Hi Scott,

So does this allow you to do shared editing with your xmpp server?

This is a small limitation on the input UI. Please open an enhancement
request...and if you can contribute a fix then it would be readily
fixed. Unfortunately, there are not many resources available right now
for improvements like this, so contributions are likely going to be
necessary to get it addressed quickly (i.e. before Helios).

If you want pointers into the exact location in the code then please say
so on the enhancement request and I'll provide them.
