how do I run xpand from the command line like a classical compiler?

java org.eclipse.emf.mwe.core.WorkflowRunner my/workflow.mwe

See WorkflowRunner for additional command line options.
The classpath of course depends on what you call in the workflow.

the Class org.eclipse.emf.mwe.core.WorkflowRunner has a main Method. See Class and/or Eclipse Help for documentation
