Hi,

Just a quick question really. I'm a little confused in the terminology
used to describe the MoDisco Browser since it is described as having
"Model Editing" capabilities on:
http://www.eclipse.org/gmt/modisco/infrastructure/GenericMod elEditor/
but elsewhere it is described as a browser only and from using it with
my own models, I cannot find any way to change parameters, add/remove
associations or objects etc.

I'm really just asking if editing capabilities is something that is
already supported (and I've not enabled or am too daft to locate!) or
whether it is a read-only browser?

Thanks in advance for any help

Alan

Hi,

The web page you saw refers to an old version of the model browser which had some editing capabilities. The current version doesn't support editing, but proper editing support is in the works.

Thanks, was just checking I wasn't missing a configuration parameter or
something :-) Any idea on a rough time-frame for editing support? The
browser is fantastic and the addition of editing capabilities would be
very handy for my current project!

Editing of model properties should be completed soon, but it
won't be integrated until the Eclipse legal team validates the
corresponding patch, which can take a while.

Hi,

The version M6 of Helios contains an editable MoDisco Model Browser.
Now, we can create, delete and modify model elements using the MoDisco
Model Browser.

Cf.
http://wiki.eclipse.org/MoDisco/Components/ModelBrowser/New_ And_Noteworthy#0.8_M6

Best regards,
