Eclipse hangs when I type [message #511251] Sun, 31 January 2010 20:46

Hi... well, basically that's my whole problem.

It's also present in Aptana, but only after I switched to the new PDT tools as it was suggested... I've downloaded a fresh copy of Eclipse Galileo and it behaves the same and I can't figure out how to prevent it from doing what it does.... or get why it does it.

This is what is always called whenever I type... which obviously freezes Eclipse, it lives for a second (kernel time .015 sec) then it dies... but restarts again over and over: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\DllHost.exe /Processid:{60A90A2F-858D-42AF-8929-82BE9D99E8A1}

Some of the threads include:
ntdll.dll!EtwDeliverDataBlock+offset
ntdll.dll!CallbackIndependent+offset
ntdll.dll!CoGetTreatAsClass+offset

In between restarts I can type but it won't take long for freezes to appear. It's really unworkable. When I don't type... it responds without a single hiccup.

I run on latest 32 bit JRE I could find on Sun's site.
I don't run any AV's or security applications... however I do run periodical checks with Eset online AV and Clam AV... as well as SuperAntiSpyware and so far my system is clean!

Any help anyone?

My experience with similar things is that some validation is slowing
things down. Try turning off some or all of them to see if things aren't
better, then add them back in one at a time.

My two-bit guess,
