hi..

i'm a newbie, in eclipse plugins and i'm wondering, how can i find the 'right' extension points to use, are there any general rules i should follow or search?

for example if i would like that certain numeric fields in dtp would be displayed as dates (legacy systems) do i turn to custom data source, can i extend an existing jdbc data source, or do i use resultset listener or result set Grid?

or if i want that http url strings would be automatically highlighted as hyperlinks and launch a browser in server console (like java class names and line numbers do in exceptions).
