Hi,

my Mail build example http://github.com/ralfebert/com.example.mail.buckminster
runs fine with Buckminster 3.5 but fails to export the product for macosx /
cocoa / x86 with Buckminster 3.6 (which I'm trying out for the testing support).

Any ideas what could cause this? Should a 3.5 application with 3.5 target
platform be buildable with the 3.6 tooling out of the box?

Sounds like a regression. I'll check this with the 3.6 that I have in trunk.

Yes, absolutely.

Hi Ralf,

I'm actually experiencing the same problem with Buckminster 3.5 instead.
I've followed your tutorial, and when I execute create.product action
for macosx, I get:

[ant] An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
[ant] session context was:(profile=RosettaProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.pha ses.Collect,
operand=, action=).
[ant] No repository found containing:
binary,com.opencanarias.mset.rosetta.product.development.exe cutable.cocoa.macosx.x86,1.0.0

Not sure if its the same error as yours. The action works fine for
win32, but doesn't for linux. In the case of linux, I get a different error:

[ant] An error occurred while installing the items
[ant] session context was:(profile=RosettaProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.pha ses.Install,
operand=null -->
[R]com.opencanarias.mset.rosetta.product.development.executa ble.gtk.linux.x86
1.0.0,
action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.ac tions.ChmodAction).
[ant] The action chmod failed - file
c:\bucky\rosetta\com.opencanarias.mset.rosetta.site.feature_ 1.0.0-eclipse.feature\oc-rosetta.gtk.linux.x86\launcher.svn- base
does not exist

Cheers,
Víctor.

Hi Ralf,

i received the same error (after refactoring a product build setup) for
buckminster in Eclipse 3.5. As a result of failded branding the launcher
will not be prepared properly (existing with size=0 bytes) and the
product is not installable.
Just the problem vanished after adding of org.eclipse.equinox.executable
feature to the product file.

Regards,
Ralf

Hi,

anything new regarding to this one? I rechecked this with 1.2.0.r11210, still happening. This only happens when the
launcher name is != "eclipse". Shall I file a bug? Your bug "278883 BrandingIron broken for MacOS" describes a similar
problem when the launcher name is == "eclipse"... Maybe this is related?

Greetings,

Ralf
