Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on the best way to write a plugin for Eclipse which implements elastic tabstops (you can see how it works and try a Java Swing applet at http://nickgravgaard.com/elastictabstops/).

I've been thinking about trying to implement it as a PresentationReconciler, but I don't know if more than one can be used at once (I imagine one being used for the current language's syntax highlighting and another being used at the same time for elastic tabstops). Is this a sensible way to go about solving this problem or can anyone suggest a better approach?

I'm very new to Eclipse development so *any* advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nick
PS. If there's a more appropriate forum or mailing list for this question, please let me know.
