We use Eclipse withe the "Web Tools Platform (WTP) Project" on Windows XP Prof.

How can we make Eclipse as Standard to open and edit html-Files with it? When we open a html-File with "send to eclipse", Eclipse will open, but not the html automatically.

Sounds like an old and long-standing feature request,
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=4922 . I believe one
of our adopters may have implemented this, but it remains
proprietary to their product.

There is work in Eclipse 3.6 (Helios) happening to allow the eclipse launcher to handle these types of requests. I don't have the bug number handy at the moment, but I know there is active work happening for this.
