(Sorry if this post is discussed in other topics, i can't find a solution)

hi, i have several problems from my debian ustable system to run eclipse pdt. The problem persist after a total format of the disk.

I use eclipse pdt galielo or eclipse pdt helios (M4), same problems.
I use java jdk 1.6.0_17
I use debian ustable

If i create a new connection eclipse respond: "Unable to connect to host.domain.it" (this domain is verified from shell ssh)

If i click "Install new software" i have the error:
Unable to connect to repository http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo/site.xml
Unable to connect to repository http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo/site.xml
Network is unreachable

In preferences:
General->Network connection is setting to Native
If i set "Direct," the problem persists
If i restart eclipse, this option is already setting to "Native"

I can't install software, develop from ssh, accessing my svn....

Any suggestion?

I have the same problem. Not only for 'Install Software', but when accessing CVS repositories too.

Running on Debian, with Java 1.6.0_17 (IBM) and Eclipse SDK Galileo (all 64bits installations).

seems that this IPv6 config related
possible solution:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=560142

hope this helps.

It's a Debian bug, not Eclipse. I found a another workaround in [1] that works for me.

Tnx for replies and workaround....
ALLELUJA, it's work!

I report the solution:
su (root pass)
vim /etc/sysctl.d/bindv6only.conf (and set net.ipv6.bindv6only = 0 )
invoke-rc.d procps restart

It's all.

Thank You Again!
