Compare "Each other" and "Ignore whitespace" [message #504536]

If I activate the "Show whitespace" I can see that the last characters
locally is a "¶" but on owner server it is a "¤¶". I believe that has to
do with that the server is linux and my local is windows.

Still the files are the same in content, only metadata is not and I
don't care about that. So what gives?
