Hi everybody,
In my project, there is one of my capability patterns the Activity Diagram
of which I cannot visualize with EPF, and that I cannot even publish.
I explain:
- I create my Activity Diagram, I performed all relationships between the
Descriptors of my Capability Patterns,
- and I close my editor,
- but since then, I could not open the Activity Diagram editor anymore...
And at publishing, the corresponding jpeg file was not generated by EPFC.
- So, I checked my DIAGRAM.XMI file, but could find anything blocking
there...
- the same in my MODEL.XMI file
I hope someone has got a proposition to help me to fix this bug...

Hi everybody,
There are a series of actions that brought my Activity Diagram to be
damaged. I explain:
- I add shapes to my Activity Diagram step by step, saving it at each
step, using join nodes and fork nodes.
- at the same state, my Activity Diagram Editor is blocked,
- and then, there are two alternatives:
- if I do not save my diagram when closing the editor:
when I reopen it from the WorkBreakdown Structure tab, my diagram is
as if I create for the first time an Activity Diagram, I mean that all
relationships are missing, and all the shapes and notes that I added are
missing to. And when I look for my diagram.xmi file, it fell down from
53ko to 1ko... I lost my diagram.
- but if I save my diagram in this state, and close my diagram editor:
when I try to reopen the diagram editor from the WorkBreakdown
Structure tab, the tab above appear, but my editor page is still blocked
on the WorkBreakdown Structure view,
and when I publish my Process, the Activity Diagram is missing
and the most strange is that my diagram.xmi is correct, when I open it
in a text editor.
- note that in this case, EPFC post a message of error on overload
memory
I spend much time to try to understang the mechanism that brought my
diagram to be damaged, and following are the likely causes:
- the flow is a neverending flow?
- there are only a limited number of join or fork nodes that I can use?
- or there are some kind of limit of number of control flow to the same
task descriptor?
I hope someone could give me an advice or a proposal of explanation...

steps. We can try to reproduce in-house and debug what could be the cause.
Couple of questions -
- what the maximum join/fork node you using in a diagram
- whats maximum control flow you using to task descriptor
We just haven't come across anything specific yet from any of our
customers so it's hard to say unless we debug it.
Also, one thing you mentioned that EPFC about overloaded memory. If you
are getting "Out of memory" error then best thing to do would be to
increase memory heap size while running EPFC. Publishing to memory-heavy
operation and sometimes can lead to out of memory depending on
site/diagrams you are publishing. If it's "SWT resource " error then we
really need to do how many diagram are you using at one time, how many
diagram UI components you are drawing etc. Because swt resource is depends
on underline windows resources. So sometime if you have too many
applications running on windows (heavy graphics, especially) you can get
"swt resource" as well.
So again, if you think you can reproduce it, file a bugzilla with exact
steps and we can debug and see how we can help. Thanks
