Hi,

I used EGit to checkout the Eclipse Source code. I did for testing a
tiny change you wanted to create a patch via EGit which I could post in
Bugzilla.

Does EGit have the possibility to create patches? I don't see it in the
menu.

Best regards, Lars

Hi,

currently EGit doesn't have the functionality to create patches. That is because it is still lacking a good diff algorithm. Introducing that diff and the associated work is what I am currently working on.
You would need to use a native git implementation to create such a patch.

Ciao

Hi Christian,

sounds good. You have already a bug report for this so that I can follow
your work?

Best regards, Lars

Hi,

you can watch it in http://egit.eclipse.org where we propose and discuss code changes. This work is done in the cq-diff branch. E.g http://egit.eclipse.org/r/#change,87 or http://egit.eclipse.org/r/#change,37.
