Hi,

I just copied my plugin into /usr/share/eclipse/dropins (dropin folder
in fedora), but eclipse refuses to even open it. Is there some magic trick?

Is there a dropins folder per user? (e.g. .eclipse/*/dropins)

regards

christoph

Yes, although AFAIK it is not created for you for free.

ex: on my machine I have $HOME/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1791401814 with my p2 and my configuration directories in them. I can create a dropins directory in there and it should be used.

If that's not being used by default, you can tell eclipse where you want your dropins folder to be using a property - org.eclipse.equinox.p2.reconciler.dropins.directory
