online editing is a pain for me. because I have a bad network connection
some time. And (or so?) the reponse of translation page is low.

Can I do a offline translation, and then sync them to the online version?

now, How about the best practice for my case?

best regards,
Jin

Hi Jin, thanks for your interest in contributing your translations.

Babel is currently designed to be a simple wiki-style interactive web translation tool, so that we don't have to worry about all the checking out, locking, and checking in of the files.

However, you can still perform some of translation works offline. But, you will lose some useful functions of the interactive web translation tool, like searching for translation hints, and translating exact occurrences of the same string.

At the bottom of the Babel Downloads page ( http://www.eclipse.org/babel/downloads.php ), we've zipped up all the translatable strings for the Eclipse Platform Project. You may download the zips, translate the files and contribute the translations back by following the large translation contribution process ( http://www.eclipse.org/babel/development/large_contributions .php ).
