Context lost when quitting eclipse? [message #486128] Wed, 16 September 2009 12:45 Go to next message

I just started to use Mylyn for my personal projects with the Galileo
release, which means I use it with a local repository for now. Now there
is a point I dont understand: almost everytime I exit eclipse then open it
again, the context I built during the previous session is lost (including
landmarks), except for the currently visible item.

I tried different things:
- enable auto synchronization, change the delay to 5 minutes
- manually synchronize
- attach context in the task editor but it tells me that I cant attach a
context to a local repository

Sometimes I get the context I had before, but more often I get the minimum
context. It's annoying. I just would like that it works out of the box
without scratching my head about "how to save the context between two
coding sessions"?

My experience is that it's better to deactivate your task BEFORE
quitting Eclipse, then activate it again as soon as you restart Eclipse.

I also have many problems when I quit Eclipse with an active task, it's
not very clear how Mylyn handles that.

Mauro.

i experience some losses too, but also for tasks that are in eclipse bugzilla.
but in my case there are more than just the active item that remains in the context. maybe the option "dont remove from context on editor close" isnt working quite right....

if think, this should be raised as a bug!
there is also the case, that eclipse crashes at times, so IMO it would be could to persist as soon as possible.

or is there one already?
