Blinki has a strong interest in developments in the mobile ui framework and
mobile app framework areas. The TouchFaces framework was announced today.

I did a full Spring iPhone Webapp, so if the Spring functionality was of
interest in this context, please let me know
(it certainly works well with any Spring-IDE like STS, but from all I saw,
the Genuitec packages also have Spring support ;-)

It seems, the architecture council of Eclipse Foundation shares thoughts,
that this is more IDE-supporting than actually on the mobile side.
So I guess you also heard, that this project is to be moved towards RT or
Tools.

Seems like a smart move to avoid confusion. And it may allow other projects
and developers seeking non-mobile WebKit support to use it, too.
After all I could not see much iPhone specific yet. Even the browser.

If you like to know more about Spring support for WebKit (and although it is
not limited to iPhone either, I have so far mostly demonstrated it on those
devices) just let me know,

Thanks for the heads up. I have heard nothing about a proposed realignment
of the project and will consult my project mentors for such information.

While the current development activity is in the area of providing webkit
support, the project is clearly not IDE-specific per the proposal. In fact
emerging opportunities in mobile web frameworks and platforms is of high
interest to us as I have already indicated in a previous post. I don't see
how such interest could be construed as IDE specific. If the end result of
this project is tool-heavy then so be it but that is not solely what this
project is about at this time.

The conf call with Eclipse PMO sounded a bit like they consider it at least
more infrastructure or tools related than mobile at the moment.

Should any of you make it to ESE this month or even present something, then
I might meet those colleagues in Ludwigsburg.
I'll be giving a Babel presentation on Wednesday.
