I am really enjoying using Git with Eclipse Git, particularly the degree
of control it gives me over Quick Diff. That is awesome :)

I would really like to see tight integration with Mylyn and Git branching.
Achieving this would make Eclipse Git an outstanding multi-tasking tool
that keeps your workspace truly clean between tasks. Right now I find
myself using the command-line extensively and that works, but it's hard to
sell to my colleagues. Mylyn integration that tracks the editors open and
where I was last and hooks that into branching would be a killer app.

Tying that Mylyn integration in with a Task Repository like Bugzilla, JIRA
etc. such that it automatically associates the branch would be fantastic
too. I see a very bright future for this plug-in. I'm excited :)

You may want to post this idea on eclipse.tools.mylyn, or submit a feature request under Tools/Mylyn at bugs.eclipse.org

Mik Kersten promised to care for Mylyn integration as soon as the necessary ground work is available in EGit (see http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/egit-dev/msg00044.html).
