MIDP Emulator is empty [message #480064] Thu, 13 August 2009 16:28 Go to next message

Hi,

I am trying to set up my development environment to write J2ME programs. I
hit a big hurdle, and the few hours spent looking the problem up on Google
and perusing the various options didn't lead to anything. I therefore have
come to the point where I think asking my question here is more productive!

I have a sample MIDlet that I got online, and that I thus assume is
error-prone (no compilation errors). When I try to run it in the emulator
by right-clicking on the file and choosing 'Emulated Java ME MIDlet', the
emulator does pop-up, but the screen is empty. My only choice is to press
the 'Back' button, which brings up a screen with two unrelated options
('Install Application' and 'Manage Certificate ...').

How can I get the MIDlet to open in the emulator? I tried some other
configurations with no success. When I try some of the demos that came
from the Java Software Development Kit, they run without any problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best,
Berk

Is it listed on the MIDlets tab on the JAD editor ?

Hi David,

Thank you so much for the help. I suppose the JAD file was the issue!
