Is there some place that contains a status on this sub-project. The 'project' page is rather empty .

Ryan

Ryan,

You're referring to this home page?
<http://www.eclipse.org/bpmn/>

http://www.eclipse.org/bpmn/

It's part of the SOA Tools Platform not the Modeling Project:

http://eclipse.org/stp/

The navbar has this link so it has its own newsgroup where you can ask
questions:

http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/thread.php?group=eclipse.b pmn-modeler

Ed,

Thanks for responding, but I think this is a separate project under the Model Development Tools (MDT) project.
Here are some eclipse sites that mention it:

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/?project=bpmn2

Then the wiki:

http://wiki.eclipse.org/MDT-BPMN2

I found a proposal page, last updated august.2008
http://wiki.eclipse.org/MDT/BPMN2-Proposal

In the Relationship with Other Eclipse Projects/Components section of this proposal page, it references the STP BPMN project and mentions that they will work closely with it; so it sounds like this project was/is meant to be separate.

I found a developer list, but only 3 entries
http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/mdt-bpmn2.dev/maillist.html

A releng page that is sparse
http:// www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projectid=model ing.mdt.bpmn2.releng

I am trying to find out if the project is still active and its' status.

Regards,
Ryan

Ryan,

I overlooked the "2". :-P

I'll ask Kenn what's up but my guess would be not much of anything...

Ryan,

Progress on the BPMN2 project has stalled for various reasons, but now
that the specification has finally been adopted (as of June), there
should be some forward movement as part of the upcoming Helios
coordinated release of Eclipse.

Kenn,

Thanks for providing a status update.

I looked on the OMG site and the only BPMN spec. they have published is version 1.2; so I guess version 2.0 is still in a review phase.

I did find a document dated May 22, 2009 that was a consortium submittal in response to the RFP. However, don't know what relationship it has to anything approved by OMG.

It is located at:
http://www.bpmnstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/BPMN%202-0%20Spe cification%20BMI%2009-05-03.pdf

If this document is close enough, or another document is available, I will be glad to work on creating a EMF model.

Please let me know if there is something I can do to help get this project started.

Regards,
Ryan

Ryan,

I'm not sure how that document relates to the adopted draft either, but
I would expect the OMG to post an official adopted specification at some
point in the very near future.

Lots of folks are eager to use the metamodel once it is available, but
not so many are willing/able to contribute to implementing it. So, we
would gladly welcome your contribution in this area. I'll do some
digging to find out what the latest status of the specification is...

Kenn,

I will check with the omg site (weekly) until the specification is published, then let the list know.

Until it is published, I guess we wait.

Ryan

Ryan,

Sorry for the delay. I was finally able to track down the beta document
for the submission that was adopted in June. It can be found at
http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?dtc/09-08-14.

Hey everybody,

was there already made progress on that topic? I found the metamodel on https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=247456 But I have not found it on the web site (http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/?project=bpmn2). Can anybody give me an update?.

And additionally I have the question under which license it is released? (I am not very familiar with different licenses, I only was ordered to ask that question:))

Kind regards,
Ede

Please ask on the bugzilla to be sure Antoine sees your question.
