Hi, David,

This is a question for the UML2 newsgroup, which I have included in this
reply.

If you downloaded the UML2 SDK distribution ZIP, then it includes source
attachments that allow the PDE to show the source code in the Eclipse
workbench. It works just the same as for the Eclipse Platform source.

Cheers,

Christian

Thanks for your reply Christian..... I have no idea of how to even get to
the PDE not to even talk of extracting the source. Please can you tell me
the steps to take. I will be happy if you can assist me on this. I am still
a basic learner when it comes to using eclipse. Thanks

Hi, David,

For newbie Eclipse questions, there is a dedicated newsgroup:
eclipse.newcomer.

Assuming that you downloaded and installed a ZIP file named something
like mdt-uml2-SDK-2.2.1.zip, then it already includes the sources for
all of the UML2 code. If you didn't download the "SDK" ZIP, then get it
and install it. Look for the "SDK (Runtime, Source, Examples)" item:

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/downloads/index.php?proj ect=uml2&showAll=0&showMax=5

If you're developing Eclipse plug-ins, then you are already using the
PDE. It's a bunch of plug-ins to Eclipse that (among much else) know
how to show the source code for the features you have installed. It
isn't a separate tool.

With the UML2 SDK installed, you should automatically see the source for
any *.class files from the UML2 project when you open them with, for
example, the Strl+Shift+T dialog.

If you have further questions, I'm sure that the newcomer mewsgroup will
be able to help. You can also search for "source attachment" in the
on-line help for more details.

Cheers,

Christian
