Currently Eclipse/WTP/JSF provides extension point and management on 2
categories of JSF libraries: JSF implementation libraries and component
libraries. But adding another category called "support libraries" makes
more sense to me so that apache common library etc. can be managed. I am
not sure this should be done in WTP/JSF project or WTP project via
classpathcontainer?

A JSF library can contain any jar, including support jars. I would
recommend creating an appropriately named component library to hold those
jars.
