Probably it's best to include the UML newsgroups, which I've added to
the "to" list of the reply.

Hi Tom,
As we discussed in a previous thread, I'm not aware of an opensource tool
that converts from UML 1.x to UML 2.x and would think this to be a difficult
task because of the mind blowing number of changes.
Referring to the OMG's RTF ballots and using previous versions of the specs
annotated with change bars might be your best bet.
Also if you had specific questions, they could probably be answered in the
UML2 newsgroup.
By the way, there are tools that do perform such a migration, but they are
not free, and, to be honest, I'm not certain how accurate they are.
