Hi,

I am looking for a pdf support inside the eclipse help doc. How can i
achieve this. Any inputs/links will be appreciated. I have seen IBM's doc
support but it seems its only for IBM Product i.e. websphere (see the
below link).

Hi,

I'm really not sure what you mean about "a pdf support inside the
eclipse help doc".

I went to the URL that you list below and looked for "PDF" in that
topic. The only mention of PDF is the following text:
"To view PDF documents within the help system, you must have Adobe
Acrobat Reader Version 4.05 or higher installed, and the Acrobat Web
plug-in properly installed in your browser."

That IBM doc for WebSphere is actually running the Eclipse-based
infocenter, and the Eclipse help documentation also runs in an
Eclipse-based infocenter here:
http://help.eclipse.org/stable/index.jsp

And the Eclipse-based infocenter is running in your normal machine's
browser, so if you can normally view PDFs on the Web inside your IE or
Firefox browser, then you'll be able to view PDFs that are in the
content that's in an Eclipse-based help system or infocenter.

So, are you asking for the URL to the Eclipse help documentation running
in the same infocenter type of system as the IBM WebSphere infocenter so
you can read the Eclipse help docs?

Or do you mean that you want the Eclipse help documentation files to be
in PDF format, and you are looking for PDFs of the Eclipse help
documentation?

Or are you asking for a way that you can have a PDF file inside your
content that you provide inside an Eclipse-based help system?

It is that last item ('how do I have support for PDFs inside my help
content') that I thought you meant by asking for "pdf support". I don't
see an actual PDF inside the IBM URL that you posted, so I don't
understand the connection between your question and the URL that you posted.

Best regards,
Lee Anne

Apologies, my description is not clear in my previous thread..

Actually, i am asking a way to add the PDF files inside an Eclipse-based
help system i.e. currently the help system supports html format, may be i
wanted to add my PDF files into this help system(***). So do we have any
open source plugins for this? or is there a buildin support available in
eclipse?.

*** After i add my pdf files into the help system, it looks like
Help -> Help Contents
Workbench User Guide - (contains html pages)
Java Development User Guide - (contains html pages)
ABC_Platform User Guide - (contains PDFs)
XYZ_Platform User Guide - (contains PDFs+html files)

Thanks in advance
