Ted,

What format is the diagram in? The UML2 component of MDT doesn't provide
support for notation (i.e. digrams). However, if it's a GMF diagram (based
on the notational metamodel in GMF), you should be able to load the resource
and manipulate the contents using the APIs available in GMF. Please see the
GMF docoumentation/newgroup for more details.
