Hello everyone,

could someone please tell me if it is possible to tell my rcp application
to open the help (standard help from menu and also f1-context-help) in an
external browser?

If yes then how can I accomplish this? I couldn't find anything regarding
this in the docs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Christian

Hi Christian,

In the workbench, in Window->Preferences, Preferences dialog, click Help
label in the tree and there is a section labeled "Specify how help
information is displayed" and check box "Use external browser". I think
that setting is to have the standard help from the menu always open in
an external browser.

There is likely a product level customization which controls this. Try
looking at:

I think it is the "always_external_browser" parameter and set it to true.

For the F1-context-help, I am not seeing a preference setting to have it
open to a full browser. It looks like you can have F1-context-help open
in the old-style infopop boxes by setting "dialog_infopop" parameter to
true.

Give those a try.

Best regards,
Lee Anne
