Changing Datatype on DnD in a plattform agnostic way [message #462646] Sun, 16 October 2005 14:00

I just started getting myself into DnD and build a test application
where two labels transfer data between each other. The data is a
Javaobject which is transfered through serialization.
Now I want to implement a version of my ModelTransfer that is capable of
transfering a textmessage as well as a model depending on the droptarget.
I figured out how to setup my dndsource and dndtype to allow both types
of transfers but I'm struggeling for a way that allows me to set the
data in a plattform agnostic manner.
I know I can set the currentdatatype in the acceptDrop method but I
wonder how I know which datatype to set since I don't have a
Transferdata object in hands and how to determine in my source which
data to set, the serialization data or the textdata.
In other words what must I do to determine from a dragsourceevent the
transfertype I'm about to set?

Any help greatly appreciated
