then combo does not show the height 50.

If this is on a Windows platform, read on, otherwise ignore.
Windows ignores combo box height settings.
This is because it has to ensure that there is enough height to display the
text as well as the caret.
The only way to change the height is to change the font.
Alternatively you can use CCombo.
