Relocating Bugzilla repository seems to break old contexts [message #45853] Thu, 20 March 2008 07:50 Go to next message

I've recently relocated my Bugzilla repository to a different URL and
Mylyn for the most part handles it great (just update the Task
Repository URL and everything updates smoothly). I'm using Eclipse 3.3.1
with the bundled version of Mylyn and the Bugzilla connector to Bugzilla
3.0.3.

However, after the move, it seems that contexts created from the *old*
URL no longer are retrievable in Mylyn. When I try and retrieve the
context, I am simply continually prompted that "No local context exists.
Retrieve from repository?" (with a dialog allowing me to choose the
context that when selected simply gives the above prompt again).

I can still retrieve the context.zip files manually and the first thing
that is apparent is that that the context stores the repository URL as
part of it's xml and ID.

Is the context forever tied to the URL of the Repository it was created
in (and thus I've pretty much lost these contexts without manual
updates)? Or is there something else going on that I'm just not fully
understanding?

Thanks,

Matt

As for contexts stored locally on your computer, they get
migrated/refactored when you change the repository url of the associated
TaskRepository. As for the problem you are seeing when retrieving from a
remote repository, this should not be the case as the contexts should be
retrieved and named based on the repository being downloaded from. If
you are still seeing this problem, please submit a new bug report so we
can investigate this for the up coming Mylyn 3.0 release.
