Execution statistics times don't add up... [message #45743] Fri, 09 December 2005 16:19

Hello,

I'm using TPTP 4.0.1 with Eclipse 3.1.1 on Linux, to profile an
application looking for places I can speed it up.

When I run the profiler and look at the "Execution Time Analysis"
tab with the "Show as Percentage" option, the percentages in the Base
Time columns don't add up to 100%, but to about 20%. The numbers in
"Cumulative Time" add up to about 35%.

Is this a glitch in data collection, or is the other time being spent
on some kind of system task (like garbage collection), or...?

Is there a way to see how much of its time my application is spending
in garbage collection?

Any help or hints appreciated,

----ScottG.
