PDT and WST don't work [message #44153] Thu, 16 August 2007 21:07 Go to next message

I've spent the whole day trying to install Eclipse Europa after
reinstalling Windows, but whatever I do I can't get PDT and WST to work.
Tried downloading Eclipse Classic and following the instructions I used
for Callisto, but also got the all in one package to no avail.
There is no PHP perspective available, no PHP section (nor Web Services,
or Web and XML) in the preferences, and the only projects I can create are
of the types General, Connection Profiles, CVS, Java and Server.

PDT and WST are indeed installed and enabled, according to the tree view
in the Product Configuration window, and their status say they are
configured properly.

Before you suggest I start Eclipse with the -clean switch; I've done that.
Many many times. Perhaps there's another cache somewhere?

Very grateful for your help on this!

Elias

Problem solved, apparently by using Sun's JDK 5 rather than 1.4.

have you download all PDT dependencies?

Eclipse SDK v3.3 version used in this build is here: Linux Windows Mac OS
X.
Eclipse test framework v3.3 version used in this build is here.
EMF SDO XSD 2.3.0 SDK version used in this build is here.
GEF 3.3 SDK version used in this build is here.
DTP 1.5 SDK version used in this build is here.
WTP 2.0 SDK version used in this build is here.

if yes, you should use -clean argument... just kiding.

if still things go wrong I think that the log file will be the right place
to start with.
