Hi Folks,

Is it safe to assume the Dali stuff didn't make it into WTP 2.0 M2? Any
ideas what the latest plan is for Dali integration into WTP?

That's correct. There isn't any Dali code in the WTP 2.0 M2.

> Any ideas what the latest plan is for Dali integration into WTP?

I made a recent change to our 1.0 milestone plan
(http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Dali_1.0_planning) that added WTP 2.0
M3 as our target for WTP build integration. I have to mention though that
we are re-architecting Dali currently in order to support the orm.xml
descriptor, as well as achieve greater extensibility, including the use of
Facets and the new DTP project for DB connectivity.

So, in short, the Dali code is going through a lot of changes and
therefore the functionality in the M3 build will be somewhat limited. The
functionality will be broader and more integrated, but will not yet have a
lot of the functionality from the 0.5 release. All of this is part of an
effort to have a more complete set of features, in addition to an
extensible base from which to build off of for our 1.0 (WTP 2.0) release.

Hi Ali,

For M3, our plugins are not actually located in the driver, but are built
along with the driver (in the same build), but as a distribution that is
downloaded separately. For M3, if you scroll to the bottom of the
download page -
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R2.0/S- 2.0M3-200611170109/
- you will see the JPA download section.

Our plugins will eventually be merged with the main driver, probably in
the January or February timeframe. So we are now a part of the WTP 2.0
build, but our output is simply available as a separate download.

Also note that the WTP 2.0 M3 driver only includes the Dali 1.0 core
(model) plugins, but not the UI or test plugins. We managed to get the
core successfully into the M3 build, but were unable to get the entire set
of plugins in by the necessary date. The full set of plugins will be
available in M4.
