Hi,
I'm looking for a framework capable of transforming/merging EMF model
instances.
So far, I came across the GMT subproject "Epsilon" and the "Tiger" EMF
Transformation Project.
Epsilon does not seem to support model instance transformations at
present but the project description promises "supports model management
tasks for any kind of metamodel and model instances" in the future.
As far as the metamodel tool support goes "Tiger" did not make a very
reliable impression to me. Does anybody have experience with it's model
instance transformation features?
Are there any other suitable frameworks I could not find?

Hi, Christian,
The Eclipse Modeling Project's M2M sub-project has a number of options
available for model-to-model transformations, including ATL, QVT, and
oAW. You might browse their website and Wiki at eclipse.org and follow
up with questions on their newsgroup (which I have included in this reply).
HTH,
Christian

Hi Christian,
Epsilon does support model transformation and in fact it also provides a
language (superset of the transformation language) that directly
addresses model merging.
Two examples of model transformation and merging using Epsilon are
available in http://www.eclipse.org/gmt/epsilon/doc/examples.php
("Transforming an Object Oriented model into a Relational Database
model" and "Merging two Object Oriented models" respectively).
Please feel free to ask any further questions about Epsilon in the
eclipse.epsilon newsgroup which I've included in this reply.
Cheers,
Dimitrios
