Import from Working copy [message #40535] Mon, 26 January 2009 21:42 Go to next message

Hi,
I was under the impression that I can Import an exsting eclipse project from
an external working copy (e.g. a copy check-out by another subversion
client)
into a workspace and that the team API (e.g. subversive) would be enabled.

The reason I want to do this is that our Subversion repo contains other
projects (e.g. non-eclipes) and that is very impractial to
have several working copies from the same repo. If we could just have one
and then import the wanted ecplise projects it would
solve our problems.

Perhaps I'm missing some vital thing here.

Any suggestion / comments appreciated

Hello Lars,

If you checked out Eclipse project into workspace using some external
Subversion client you should still be able to import your project by
using "Import" -> "Existing projects into workspace" and browsing to the
project root directory. Assuming that .project and .classpath files are
correct you will see your project in Project Explorer.

Please make sure that you are using compatible svn connectors. From
Subversive 0.7.6 Release Notes:
"Subversive supports Subversion versions 1.1-1.4 with SVN Kit 1.1.7 and
JavaHL 1.4.5,
Subversion version 1.5 with SVN Kit 1.2.0 and JavaHL 1.5.x"

Did you try those steps? If yes and they didn't work, then please add
some more details.
