Hi,

Eclipselink-1.0.2 ships with javax.persistence_1.0.0.jar. Does anyone
know where I can find the source code for this jar? It seems that the
EclipseLink source code is included but not the one from javax.persistence*

Best regards, Lars

Hi Gordon,

thank you.

Do you think it would make sense to include this source file also in the
EclipseLink distribution? If yes, I'll open a feature request for this.

Best regards, Lars

Lars,

I am just working through questions from the Eclipse Foundation legal team
as we prepare for our 1.1 and 2.0 releases. I do not believe we are
supposed to distribute source code to 3rd party dependencies but I will
review and see what we can do as I do find having the source available
makes developing and debugging easier.

Lars,

Spoke with the legal folks and there are good reasons for not distributing
the source of dependent libraries that have different licenses. If you
download EclipseLink from eclipse.org licensed under EPL & EDL and we
distribute source for javax.persistence it may not be obvious that the
CDDL licensing of that source is different then the rest of the source you
get. Having consumers explicitly get the source makes it more obvious that
it is licensed differently.

We won't be distributing CDDL source within the EclipseLink distributions.

Hi Doug,

Thank you for checking. This explanation makes sense.

Best regards, Lars
