Hello,

I was wondering if there are any plans concerning graph layouts in modeling
project ?

GMF offers extension point to provide custom layout implementations but
there are no examples delivered at this point.

Such layouts could dramatically leverage use of GMF editors (usability
mainly).

I was basically thinking to some generic layout examples among :

- Clustering
- Bi-Partite graph
- Kamada-Kwai
- FRLAyout
- Spring Layout
- ISOM Layout
- Circle Layout
- ...
- Wire Routing
- ...
- Grid Layout

These layouts could be generic, based on GMF graphical model, to be reusable
on any GMF editor.

Is implementation of such layouts on top of a possibile/acceptable RFE ?

Should it be considered as a modelling sub project ?

Is it defintly out of the scope of this news group ?

regards,

- Lucas

Hello,

There is a request to provide late binding of layout type to a diagram.
You could add your comments to it.

Take a look at the org.eclipse.gmf.examples.runtime.diagram.layout
plug-in in CVS for an example of a layout provider
