Hello,

In our group, we have been working in the development and implementation
of some UML standard profiles at the OMG.

We have developed some tools and EMF repositories that integrate different
metamodels (e.g. UML2, OCL abstract syntax, QoS and SPT metamodels).

UML2 standard profiles.

And some basic transformation/mapping tools (e.g. OCL parsers and mappings
from concrete to abstract syntax integrated in metamodels, mappings from
UML2+profile to metamodels).

We would like to know if MDT will work on this kind of projects, and what
kind of partners you would like to join to the project.

Regards,

Miguel

Miguel,

Thanks for your interest in the MDT project! The scope of the project will
be limited to metamodels that are covered by the Modeling project's
charter... this does not include domain-specific profiles unless such
profiles are deemed essential to support the tools that are developed for
those metamodels. Tooling around transformations between models and between
models and text is being addressed by the M2M (eclipse.modeling.m2m) and M2T
(forthcoming) projects.

The MDT project is looking for partners to contribute and/or help develop
metamodels (e.g. a DI metamodel implementation) and tools based on those
metamodels (a graphical editor for XSD, more diagrams for UML, etc.).
