Scrollbar.isVisible is always true [message #375315]

Is there any way to check if a tables vertical scrollbar is visible or
not? I have a table with some items which return true for
table.getVerticalBar().isVisible() (and .getVisible()) wheather it shows a
scrollbar or not.
I tried Windows 2000 and motif.
