Hi! I'm a master student in my last year and as part of my thesis I'm
looking into extending the stp bpmn editor with semantic annotations.
More specifically this will probably involve annotating the ecore
metamodel with a generic semantic annotation, mapping this to a subset
of UPMS (currently in standardization process at OMG) and from there
down to executable WSMO/WSML code deployed to a WSMX server.

I noticed in another thread here regarding a build failure that one
should not use the gmf generators as you've hacked some of the code to
your specific needs. Is this how things are for now, or will it be
changed in the (near) future? Does it mean that I have to delve deep
down into the code? (limited experience..)

I guess I will start implementation in december or january depending
on how my work with mappings from bpmn to the beformentioned
metamodels proceed.. are there releases planned in this span of time?

I hope my questions are reasonable :-)

Thanks for your patience!

Cool! You can use EMF eAnnotations and our tutorial here:

Hi,

we have customized a lot GMF to behave nicely with containers. We did
not customize the semantic model classes generated by EMF.

In any case you will need to code, and look at the bpmn.ecore file to
understand the BPMN model. It is very simple, so you should be fine.

Eclipse releases simultaneously, so there is a Winter release planned.
